3. DEFINITIONS

In these Bye-Laws, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context:

1. The ‘Federation’ means National Federation of State Cooperative Banks Limited.  
   
    

2. The ‘Registrar’ means the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies    
   
   

3. ‘Act’ means the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act 1984.    
   
   

4. ‘Rules’ means the Rules in force under the Act referred to in clause (c) above.    
   
   

5. The ‘Board’ means the Board of Directors duly constituted under these Bye-Laws to manage the affairs of the Federation.
   
   

6. ‘Member’ means State Cooperative Banks joining in an application for registration of the Federation  which is subsequently registered and State Cooperative Banks admitted to the membership after  such registration in accordance with the provisions of the Act, Rules and Bye-Laws of the Federation.  
   
   

7. ‘Financial Year’ means the year beginning from 1^st  April and ending on 31^st day of March.  
   
   

8. ‘Chief Executive’ means the Chief Executive of the Federation.
